Types of Batteries and their pluses and minuses

Batteries are one of the most important components in today's electronic devices because without batteries, these tools will not be used. Batteries are one of the various forms of electrical voltage sources that exist. Usually, electronic devices that use batteries are the types of devices that focus on portability, such as flashlights, TV remotes, portable radios, and other electronic devices.

Batteries are one of the various forms of electrical voltage sources that exist. Usually, electronic devices that use batteries are the types of devices that focus on portability, such as flashlights, TV remotes, portable radios, and other electronic devices.

When viewed from the type, the battery can be divided into two types, namely primary battery and secondary battery. Primary battery or primary battery is a type of battery that uses an irreversible electrochemical reaction so that it can only be used once. Different from the primary battery, the secondary battery is a type of battery that uses a reversible electrochemical reaction so that the voltage in it can be recharged so that it can be reused.

Did you know that when a battery is not used, the charge in it will gradually decrease. This battery capability is known as self-discharge. This capability varies in each type of battery, ranging from only zero point percent per year to 15% per month. For this type of primary battery, its self-discharge capability is at the smallest of the above range.

This type of secondary battery usually has a more expensive price than the primary battery. However, the price will be much cheaper than we use the type of primary battery with the same period of use. Suppose we use a battery with a 500 life-cycle, then buying a pair of secondary batteries with a charger will be much cheaper than we use the type of primary battery that runs out at any time and needs to be replaced again.

ABC Batteries and Alkaline Batteries are examples of the types of primary batteries that we can find in local shops. These batteries are usually zinc-carbon batteries or alkaline batteries (not branded, yes). This type of alkaline battery is a type of primary battery that replaces zinc-carbon primary batteries that have been developed so that they have better capabilities and efficiency than zinc-carbon batteries. Alkaline batteries can deliver 5x more energy than a zinc-carbon battery of the same size.

The battery is one of the easiest examples of the many types of secondary batteries available. The battery is a type of secondary battery because the electric charge it has can be recharged by connecting it to an electric current source. The battery consists of several components, namely the positive electrode which is PbO2 (lead dioxide) plates, the negative electrode which is Pb (lead) plates, and an electrolyte solution consisting of 35% sulfuric acid (H2SO4) and 65% of it. water (H2O). When the battery is used, the positive and negative electrodes will react with the electrolyte solution to form PbSO4 and H2O compounds. This reaction also produces ions which later form electrons so that if there are moving electrons, an electric current can be formed and can be used to power electronic components.
